Horse and Carriage has three bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, adding to the luxury escape.

Wind down the long pretty driveway which leads you to this unique escape. Set in picturesque grounds, you'd be forgiven for thinking this is a rural retreat, yet the market square in Ripon is just a 10-minute walk away. Welcome to Horse and Carriage, an old stable block now extended and beautifully converted into a three-bedroom luxury holiday home with a hot tub.

Revel in the minimalistic yet colourful design and the many home comforts from the minute you step through the large stable door. Certainly one of the most impressive getaways in the UK, the open plan living offers a vast space for social gatherings.

In the high-end kitchen it is perfectly equipped for cooking up a feast, and the floor to ceiling doors and windows that wrap around the house flood the room with natural light. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner at the beautiful walnut dining table, or perch at the central kitchen island with a morning coffee to plan your days adventure.

Sink into the sumptuous corner sofa and admire the far-reaching scenes outside or watch a film on the large smart TV. Opposite the bi-fold doors open out to an al fresco dining area.

An impressive and focal point on the ground floor is the Italian custom design floating staircase, which leads upstairs to two beautiful bedrooms.

A ground floor bedroom features a super king-sized bed, which can be split into twins. The colourful fabrics are fun and the luxury linens impress. Pamper yourself in the adjoining bathroom, with a spacious double sink and bold tiles in the walk-in shower.

Wind upstairs to the two bedrooms, uniquely designed with eye catching headboards in Kit Kemp designer fabric and artwork by local artist David Stead. Each bedroom is en-suite; one with a shower room and the other features a gorgeous freestanding roll-top bath, perfect for a blissful soak after a day exploring!

Venture into the gardens which are complete with a BBQ, an outdoor table tennis table, and an idyllic alfresco dining area. From Horse and Carriage you can often spot pheasants, rabbits and the occasional deer in the paddock beyond.

Discover the impressive cedar wood hot tub set in a tranquil corner of the garden. There is a stylish outdoor shower area too, guaranteed to reinvigorate your day after a dip.

The driveway, entrance courtyard and grounds are shared with the neighbouring property Riding Boots. Together these properties can be booked to sleep 10 guests.

Arrive to a locally sourced welcome hamper, high quality wi-fi, and plenty of parking for 3 cars. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for that home from home experience; there is a dishwasher, electric and gas combination range oven, microwave, fridge freezer and wine cooler. The washing machine and tumble dryer sits in the ground floor cloakroom. Bed linen, towels, bathrobes, and a selection of Noble Isle toiletries are included. No cot or highchair are included.

There is plenty of parking for 3 cars. Horse & Carriage is also perfect for guests looking for a holiday cottage with EV charging, there is a rapid Tesla charging point mounted on the garage for guests. Charging costs 45 p/kWh via a smart card which is available on request on arrival.

There is a shared parking area set back from the road along a private driveway. There is parking for 2 cars and an electric vehicle charging point, payable at the property. The garden wraps around the property, though please note it is not enclosed. The gardens are shared with Riding Boots, however the outside seating in each faces away from each other to give privacy.

The large open plan living and dining area is all on one level. There is one step into the house from the courtyard.

The stylish ground floor bedroom makes this a more accessible property for guests with reduced mobility. The super-king bed can be set up as twins or as a super-king. The adjoining bathroom has a double sink and huge walk-in shower. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, both with fixed super-king beds. Bedroom 2 includes a free standing bath and shower, whilst bedroom 3 has a shower. Please note families will need to bring their own cot and highchair. The property is suitable for up to 1 infant.

In The Area

The prime location of this boutique bolthole in North Yorkshire puts it in striking distance of Ripon’s centre, only a ten-minute walk away. This cathedral city has a thriving market place, an array of independent shops and a wide choice of restaurants, pubs and bars. Why not spend a day exploring the beautiful Studley Royal Water Gardens in the grounds of Fountains Abbey on ther outskirts of Ripon. Close by are more family friendly attractions near Ripon, such as Lightwater Valley, Newby Hall, Ripon Races, Ripon Workhouse Museum (perfect for a rainy day), and the glorious Ripon Cathedral.

Enjoy breakfast at Oliver’s Pantry, before a riverside ramble into the market square (market day is Thursday and Sunday, and not to be missed!) for a spot of independent shopping. Try tapas from Manchega’s, or a slice of homemade cake from Realitea. A Sunday roast is done best at The Storehouse, and try to book an evening slot so you can sample their cocktails too!
