The router is located in the sitting room. If you are having problems connecting to the Wi-Fi, check the ethernet cable and power cable are securely plugged into the back. If it’s still not operational, turn the power off on the router for 30 seconds then back on, then “forget” the network on your device and reconnect. If you are still having problems, please let reception know.
Be Safe
On arrival please make yourself familiar with the emergency exits and fire safety procedures in the guestbook. At night it is recommended you shut the sitting room door for a safer exit out of the front door. There are small torches around the house in case of power cuts, please leave these in place and plugged in. Should you have any questions or concerns please do let us know on arrival.

Each radiator is programmed to come on twice a day, morning and evening. To be able to change the temperature up or down manually press the small button on the control on the front of the radiator to change it from automatic to manual, the screen will light up and M or A will appear in the corner. Then use the + or – to increase or decrease the temperature. Press the button back to Automatic, then later in the day it will be back on the timer. The radiators may be turned off in the summer.
The hot water is also on a timer. (The shower in the first floor bathroom heats its own water automatically and will always be hot) To boost the hot water, if needed, locate the boost button, which is at the bottom of the stairs on the left. Press once for 1 hour, twice for 2 hours etc. up to a maximum of 4 hours.
Log Burning Stove
Logs, kindling, fire-lighters and matches are provided and are stored in the log basket next to the fire. Additional logs can be found outside your property.
WARNING: The outside of the stove does become hot, please do not allow children to operate or play with the stove.
Stack kindling loosely in the stove and place 1-2 small logs on top of the kindling and two firelighters slightly separated at the centre of the pile; light with a match. Close the door, making sure it clicks shut. Keep an eye on the fire as it starts to burn and be ready to build up the logs: Do not overfill the stove with wood.
Please Note:
Hot Tub Operation
Please read the safety information for using the hot tub. We will test the hot tub daily for health and safety, a quick 10 minutes in the morning and he will be done.
Please make sure your hot tub remains on ‘Auto’ otherwise it will lose temperature.
The hot tub will be cleaned out and filled with fresh water on the day of your arrival. You do not need to empty the water during your stay, there is an anti-bacterial treatment for the water in the hot tub. The water is heated via an electric heater & the air source heat pump, warming at around 2 degrees per hour so the hot tub may not be able to be used until later on the first night.
The hot tub is set to around 38 degrees, and you will be able to use the temperature controls to adjust. Please see the control panel on the hot tub to operate the jets. Always ensure that the tub is left on auto when not in use. Please note that the tub will not heat when the jets are set to high.
There are lights over the hot tub area, controlled from a 3-way light switch by the cloakroom; on, off or on the sensor.
A lot of factors play a role when heating the water, ambient temperature, weather conditions etc. Keep the lid on the hot tub when heating to conserve the heat. There is a hosepipe in the area for the addition of cold water if you would like to cool it down or need to top up the tub for any reason.
The water is heated by circulating through the system via an inlet and outlet pipe within the hot tub. DO NOT let the water drop below its original level. If necessary, please use the hose pipe provided to top up the water level.

A BBQ can be found at the bottom of the garden at Woodcroft Cottage which you are welcome to use; go through the garden gate and it is in an area just the other side. It sits in this area due to previous damage to the overhanging holly tree in the garden, so thank you for taking care of where the BBQ is placed.
You may use your own charcoal or contact our reservations team and we can supply this before or during your stay for £10.
Please leave the BBQ clean and tidy ready for future guests. Tools are provided. Please leave the ashes in the metal bucket provided, only disposing of them once cooled.
