Care of the Property
We have decorated and equipped the houses to a high specification. We understand that occasionally accidents happen; please report breakages as soon as possible to give us time to replace them before the next guests arrive. Please also refer to our terms and conditions.

Wi-Fi Internet
Look for the ‘Spindrifter’ network and follow through to the internet. There is no password required.

Racing Yard
Please note that the racing yard is out of bounds.
Tours of the stable yard are available and can be arranged for you (subject to availability) starting from £35 per group and can be carried out Monday and Friday with prior notice.
Badges and lunch can also be arranged in advance for local race meetings.

Fire Safety
In the unlikely event of a fire, please note that a fire extinguisher and fire blanket can be found in the kitchen along with a first aid kit for any minor injuries. Please keep bedroom doors closed at night.

Rebook your stay:

If any guest in your party rebooks within 10 days of your stay, you are entitled to a 5% rebooking discount. The code for this discount is emailed to you on departure.

Refer a friend scheme:You can also take advantage of our refer-a-friend scheme too. If you refer us to your friends and family and they place a booking with us for the first time they can benefit from a 5% discount and you will receive a £50 Holiday At Home voucher when they depart! Simply ask them to quote your name when they book and we will take care of the rest.

Please be aware that, in accordance with the Health & Safety Water System Records Regulations, we are required to test the hot tub water daily. This will be done by one of our maintenance team first thing in the morning. This does not take long and should not disturb you.

LIFTING THE COVER:

Press the two clips either side and pull out or some you can lift by the handles.

The cover is made of polystyrene and is very light. Lift the first half and fold back onto itself.

Lift into upright position and slide down behind the rear of the hot tub.

(You do not need to use the metal bar to lift the lid – please ensure it remains down and in the middle as you find it)

CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE:

First check the display for the current temperature and press + or – until you reach the desired temperature.

(Temp. control 80F – 140F / 26.0C – 40.0C)No higher than 40.0C

JETS can be turned on via the control pad. You can alter the force of the jest to the seats by turning the plastic controls on the top edge of the hot tub.

LIGHTS can be turned on and off via the corresponding button on the control pad.

You may take the chlorine dispenser out while using the hot tub, but please return after use.

Please DO NOT TOUCH the MODE button on the control pad – this can put the tub into hibernation mode which will make the water very cold and it takes a long time to re-heat.

You will find the equivalent of at least ten logs per day in your basket, as well as a bucket of coal cobs, kindling, firelighters and matches. Lit and used properly you will not need any more fuel for the fire during your stay with us. However, if you leave the log burners air flow open for too long you will use an inordinate amount of fuel which is bad for the environment.

For the safety of our staff who will clean the fire ready for the next guests, please ensure the fire is allowed to cool off before you leave us or not lit the morning of your departure.

Lighting the wood burners – simply break off a few small pieces of firelighter (no need to use much) and place at the bottom of the wood burner. Pop about 4/5 pieces of kindling on top of the firelighters and use a long match to light. Place 4/5 cobs of coal on top of the kindling.

The small fire will quickly establish itself and you can then add one log – as soon as this is burning nicely, add another log.

The airflow can be fully open but as soon as the fire is established we suggest you reduce the air flow to save wasting fuel. Once lit, sit back, pour a drink and relax …..

More logs can be provided if you do use the fuel supplied and any extra fuel provided will be charged to your credit card.

We ask that you use the bins provided to dispose of sanitary protection, nappies, wipes etc, as being in the countryside we rely on a septic tank system for all our waste.

Only toilet paper must be flushed with human waste, anything else WILL block the system.

Your lodge has a boiler for heating and hot water. The settings should not need to be altered. To adjust the temperature, simply rotate the thermostat dial located in the lounge area to the desired temperature.

Sun Hill is also home to a professional training establishment. The horses will be exercised up the gallops most mornings, roughly between the times of 7.45am – 11.30am. You are welcome to watch the horses, but you must not stray beyond the permitted area (at any time) – it is highly dangerous. No attempt should be made to feed the horses or leave anything which may be eaten by them – by the rules of British Horse Racing. The viewing area can be found sign posted at the end of the top row of lodges beside Spindrifter Lodge.

We do try to cut all the grass before guests arrive but due to the great British weather it is not always possible, so we apologise if the grass is slightly longer than it should be or if we are mowing during your stay.

Well behaved, friendly dogs are very welcome. Please ensure that you pick up your dog waste and dispose of it in the metal bin provided, located at the rear of the lodge, next to your bin.

We ask that you do not allow them on any of the beds or furniture, if there is any damage to bedlinen or furniture you will be charged.

The garden is enclosed but not entirely escape-proof so please keep an eye particularly on smaller dogs. Note there is wildlife that comes and goes on the pond.
