Make sure you pop into Piercebridge Organic Farm Shop which offers award-winning free-range organic meat and eggs on a family-run 300-acre farm and pick up a picnic or Ulnaby Farm Shop.

For a little bit of history, Raby Castle is one of the UK’s most impressive medieval castles and is only a short drive from The Barn. A lovely walk around High Force, one of the UK’s most spectacular waterfalls, is located within the Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where roe deer and rabbits can be spotted as you explore the enchanting forests and valleys.  

After a family day out exploring the Yorkshire Dales, a trip to Archers Ice Cream parlour is a must-visit where you can see young calves frolicking in the fields before entering the milking parlour opposite to make the freshest ice cream.
